Technology: Enabling DHCP with Windows 2012

Today, I realized that I needed to implement a DHCP server in my lab environment so I decided to build and document the procedure to build a DHCP server on Windows 2012 server.  For folks not familiar with DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), this technology allows you to dynamically assign IP addresses to computers versus having to assign a static IP address to each computer and maintaining a list a of these assignments.
