Technology: Building a Single Server Exchange 2013 Environment

One of my customers asked me how to setup an Exchange 2013 lab to begin testing.  Because of this request, I build a single server Exchange 2013 environment and document the step by step process in this post.  I am going to start in this post with a single server Exchange 2013 environment.  Exchange has gone through iterations in design approach from front-end/back-end (in Exchange 5.5, 2000, and 2003), to multi-role (mailbox, CAS, HUB, Edge, UM in Exchange 2007 and 2010) and we are moving back to a front-end/back-end architecture in Exchange 2013.

Also, the Exchange Administration has gone away from a MMC console to a web based UI called the Exchange Administration Console (EAC).   No more Exchange MMC.
