Technology: Building a base image (sysprep)

One of the keys to simplifying and easing the building of an environment is to key a base operating system (OS) image.   With a base OS image, you can quickly create a multiple server environment just by copying the base image.  This removes the step of installing the operating system on each new virtual machine.   In Windows, a key tool to use for this step is sysprep.  I document this process in this post and the attached file.
